Painter working in oil and digital
I paint in oil and digitally, with the first being more of my core practice. It has influenced how I approach digital work, moving between the two as one continuous practice rather than separate disciplines. Carrying the same qualities but with a different finish to them.My work returns again and again to deep, all-consuming feelings: yearning, desire, pain, and melancholy. Where myth and fantasy give me the distance to paint these honestly: sensuality without spectacle, melancholy without collapse, pain without holding back. My goal is always to create something breathtaking enough that it takes a moment to land, and in that pause, an opening to actually feel what you see.Whether the piece is original or drawn from a story I love, the question underneath is always the same. What does wanting, losing, or missing someone actually feel like?Maybe even more than that...What does it look like without pretence?
